Toronto Animal Services launches mobile spay and neuter services for dogs and cats

Toronto Animal Services' Mobile Spay/Neuter Your Pet (SNYP) Clinic will be rolling into neighbourhood improvement areas throughout the city to provide spay and neuter services for dogs and cats. Residents with an income of less than $50,000 will qualify for subsidized or waived fees.

City of Toronto launches new Green Bin deliveries in Scarborough

Mayor John Tory and Councillor Jaye Robinson (Ward 25 Don Valley West), Chair of the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee, today marked the launch of the new Green Bins in Scarborough, the first community to receive deliveries. The bins will be distributed city-wide over a period of 18 months. New Green Bins are required because the original curbside bins had a 10-year life expectancy, and are now past their expiry date. Old bins will be collected and recycled.

Toronto's Board of Health applauds provincial government's expansion of HPV vaccination program

Toronto's Board of Health is commending the provincial government for expanding the province's publicly funded human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination program to now include boys starting in the 2016-17 school year, and for offering the vaccine to all students in Grade 7.

City of Toronto asks road users to take extra care on roads in residential neighbourhoods

The City of Toronto is urging all road users – pedestrians, cyclists and drivers – to be extra careful on roads in residential neighbourhoods. Awareness of one another is especially important with spring here and more people walking and cycling on local streets.
