Toronto Fire Services reminds residents that this weekend's start of daylight savings time, when clocks are moved forward one hour, is also a convenient time to replace the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Toronto City Council approves new collective agreements with CUPE Local 79

Toronto City Council today approved new collective agreements with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 79, which represents 21,000 active inside workers. The new collective agreements are reasonable, affordable and allow the City to respond more effectively to the needs of Toronto residents and businesses.

City of Toronto cautions residents about responding to misleading communications – Toronto Water does not conduct door-to-door sales

The City of Toronto is receiving complaints from residents who are being given notices such as flyers from independent contractors using door-to-door sales tactics. The notices are designed to appear as if they are City communications about programs and services associated with Toronto Water.

City of Toronto receives International Sport Event of the Year Award for the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games

The City of Toronto has received the International Sport Event of the Year Award from the Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance in recognition of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. The City shares the award with key Games partners, including the Provincial Pan Am Games Secretariat (PPAGS) based in the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, the Federal Government of Canada, the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Committees, TO2015 (the Games Organizing Committee) and 16 Host Municipalities across the GTA.
