Mayor Tory deploys traffic assistant personnel in key congested intersections to improve traffic flow

As part of the second phase of its congestion management plan, Mayor John Tory launched the City of Toronto pilot project to use traffic assistant personnel (TAP) at key intersections in the city to improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists and traffic flow.

Big Transportation Data conference in Toronto this month to highlight best practices and opportunities

The City of Toronto and the University of Toronto will host a conference on the theme Big Transportation Data from June 12 to 15 to highlight opportunities for municipalities to make practical use of new forms of urban transportation data to better understand, measure, operate and plan their transportation networks.

City of Toronto residential property owners to receive updated property values

Beginning today, every residential property owner in Toronto will be mailed a 2016 Property Assessment Notice from the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). The property assessment notice provides the current value assessment of a property as of January 1, 2016. The updated assessment values will be used by the City of Toronto to calculate municipal property taxes for the 2017-2020 tax years.

Mayor Tory launches new art and music program in Toronto parks and cuts red tape for artists and musicians

Mayor John Tory today launched a new program bringing art installation and concerts in parks across the city throughout the summer. Mayor Tory also announced a new permit that will streamline the process at City Hall for artists and musicians to perform in our parks.

Community celebrates Recipe for Community project in Scarborough Village

Residents of Scarborough Village were joined by local Councillor Gary Crawford (Ward 36 Scarborough Southwest), Anne L. Brayley, Vice-President, Philanthropic Services from the Toronto Foundation and representatives of community organizations to celebrate Recipe for Community, a project that has helped make the community more vital and beautiful.
