Canada Blooms delivers spring to Toronto long-term care home

At a celebration today, residents of Carefree Lodge were joined by Councillor David Shiner (Ward 24 Willowdale) and celebrity gardener Mark Cullen to accept more than 600 plants donated by Canada Blooms and transported by Procter's Cartage.

Rob Ford, a long-time member of Toronto City Council and Toronto's Mayor from 2010 to 2014, lost a brave battle against cancer this morning.

Supervised injection services for Toronto

Given a 41 per cent increase in the reported number of overdose deaths in Toronto over the past decade and concern about the increasing role of opioids such as heroin and fentanyl, a report will be presented to the Toronto Board of Health on the health benefits of supervised injection services. The report, which will be presented to the Toronto Board of Health at its March 21 meeting, includes next steps to implement supervised injection services in Toronto.

City of Toronto's ski and snowboard centres closed for the season, some outdoor rinks closing due to weather

As a result of weather conditions, both Centennial Park and Earl Bales ski and snowboard centres are closed for the season. City staff thank patrons and look forward to the next season.

St. Patrick's Day Parade, Toronto Paramedic Association and Toronto Paramedic Services donate to Toronto's Daily Bread Food Bank

Toronto Paramedic Services Superintendent Troy Van Overdiijk, the St. Patrick's Day parade entry volunteer organizer, and Toronto Paramedic Association President Geoff MacBride this morning delivered 1,925 pounds (875 kilograms) of food and a $3,300 cash donation to the Daily Bread Food Bank in Etobicoke.
