Mayor Tory returns from Paris with renewed commitment to tackling climate change

Mayor John Tory returned from Paris on Saturday, following the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP 21). After meeting with other leaders from around the globe, Mayor Tory has renewed Toronto's commitment to fighting climate change.

Charges to be laid in Toronto for disabling a carbon-monoxide alarm

The City of Toronto's Fire Services will charge the owner of a home for allegedly disabling a carbon-monoxide alarm. The decision follows an incident last week that sent three people to hospital. The Ontario Fire Code prohibits disabling carbon-monoxide alarms.

Parks, Forestry and Recreation launches Facilities Master Plan with online survey

The City of Toronto’s Parks, Forestry and Recreation division is looking for the public’s input to help develop a new Parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan. The plan, Active Spaces-People Places, will guide facility planning for the division over the next 20 years.

Carbon monoxide and heating reminder from City of Toronto

Toronto Fire Services reminds property owners that they have a responsibility to know about the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO). Having the knowledge and taking appropriate action can save lives. Carbon monoxide is the leading cause of fatal poisonings in North America, according to the Canada Safety Council.
