City of Toronto receives award for conservation and heritage management

The City of Toronto’s Heritage Preservation Services team, along with its archeological and cultural heritage consultant, have been selected by the Archaeological Institute of America as recipients of the institute's Conservation and Heritage Management Award for 2016. The prestigious citation is one of a number of awards the institute presents each year to archeologists, educators, museums and other individuals and organizations whose work has had a positive impact on the field of archeology and heritage management.

City of Toronto and Native Child and Family Services of Toronto partner to bring unique recreation programming to youth

A celebration was held today marking the official launch of the enhanced youth space at Native Child and Family Services of Toronto's Native Youth Resource Centre. Participants included Councillor James Pasternak (Ward 10 York Centre), Chair of the Community Development and Recreation Committee; Councillor Mike Layton (Ward 19 Trinity-Spadina), Co-Chair of the Aboriginal Affairs Committee; Kenn Richard, Executive Director of Native Child and Family Services of Toronto; local youth and youth organizations; City staff; and members of the City's Youth Space Advisory Committee.

City of Toronto launches 2016 tax supported budgets

The City of Toronto's Budget Committee today began the budget process to review the preliminary 2016 tax-supported operating and capital budgets.

Toronto Public Service sets another fundraising record for United Way

The City of Toronto announced a record fundraising total of $1,580,000 in support of United Way Toronto & York Region at an event held today at the St. Lawrence Hall. Having set a goal of $1,300,000, this is the fifteenth year in a row that City of Toronto employees have exceeded their fundraising goal. This year's total represents an eight per cent increase over last year's fundraising total of $1.466 million.
