The Toronto Transit Commission team won the CIMA Mayor's Trophy for 2014 in an exciting match Saturday with the Toronto Police Services team. The employee cricket team from Rogers Communications won the CIMA Media Trophy and PriceWaterhouseCoopers won the CIMA Accountants’ Trophy.
Among the many spectators at the event, held at Sunnybrook Park, were Councillor Anthony Perruzza, (Ward 8 York West), Chair of the Community Development and Recreation Committee; Jonathan Dart, British Consul General Toronto and Director-General UKTI Canada; Martin Saxton, Chair of CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants); Keith Luck, CIMA President, United Kingdom; Raza Hasan, Senior Vice-President of CIBC; and NewsTalk 1010 host John Moore.
"The CIMA Mayor's Trophy always brings out the top players in Toronto and showcases the popular sport for both novice and seasoned enthusiasts," said Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly. "The sport of cricket has been influential in connecting diverse communities, welcoming new players and growing immensely in popularity.
The event is held in partnership with CIMA, CIBC, Rogers, Newstalk 1010, Toronto Sun, CBC, Metro News, ONESTOP Network and Tom's Place. Several other community partners joined CIMA in supporting this year’s event.
The 10th annual CIMA Mayor's Trophy is a great opportunity to highlight outstanding Toronto cricketers.

The Mayor's Trophy, with the help of a myriad of sponsors and community partners, helps to bring cricket to the broader Toronto community.

Another CIMA initiative, the third annual CIMA Mayor's School Cricket Tournament for the CIBC Trophy, was played in May of this year.
